Dr. Richard Berry, Ph.D., C. Psych 

Dr. Berry received his doctorate degree in clinical and developmental psychology from York University (1980). He is a Clinical and Forensic Psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.  
Dr. Berry has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families with issues that include parenting, family violence, separation/divorce, custody/access, conflict resolution, sexual performance/intimacy, infidelity and recovery after an extramarital affair, sexual offending and sexual victimization, trauma treatment and mood disorder. 

Dr. Berry is a designated Capacity Assessor as per The Substitute Decisions Act (1992).  In this role he provides Capacity Assessments under the auspices of the Capacity Assessment Office, Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General.


Dr. Euling Chong, Psy. D., C.Psych

Dr. Chong is a Clinical and Educational Psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She received her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D) in Clinical Psychology from the University of Melbourne, Australia and B.Sc. (Hons.) and in Psychology and Exceptionality in Human Learning from University of Toronto.  Dr. Chong specializes in the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders for both children and adults. She has a special interest in working with children and families, incorporating play therapy with cognitive-behavioral treatment. In addition she has extensive experience working with individuals involved in motor-vehicle accidents or workplace injuries who may be experiencing adjustment related difficulties and/or trauma.

Apart from her private practice, Dr. Chong also works as a psychologist at William Osler Health System-Brampton Civic Hospital.

 

Dr. Monik Kalia, Ph.D.,  C.Psych 

Dr. Kalia earned his doctoral degree in Criminal Psychology from Panjab University, Chandigarh, India. He is a registered Clinical and Forensic Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.  Dr. Kalia is experienced in the following areas for adult populations:  sex offences, alcohol abuse, anger management and marriage counselling.  He provides risk assessments for individuals involved with the law and conducts phallometric evaluations (erotic preference test). He is a Consulting Psychologist with Brampton Probation & Parole. He worked at Roy McMurtry Youth Centre also.  Dr. Kalia is fluent in Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu and English.


Peter Sammet, M.A.

Peter has 30 years counselling experience working with children, teens, couples, families and individual adults. His broad range of experience includes addictions, domestic violence, anger management, sexual abuse, effective communications in relationships, negotiating the process of transition in relationships (such as separation and divorce), conflicts in intimacy, recovery from infidelity, stress management, parenting/co-parenting, depression and anxiety. A graduate of the Adler Professional School of Psychology, Peter uses his training and experience to work collaboratively with clients to achieve their goals.


Linda Samson,  M.Sc., R.M.F.T

Linda is a registered marriage and family therapist with 27 years of professional practice. Her broad range of experience includes marriage counselling, addiction, childhood and sexual trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, infertility, menopause, and the spiritual dimension of recovery.  A former college professor of psychology, women studies and family studies, Linda has also lectured and presented at conferences throughout Canada and the U.S.  As a therapist she is gentle, respectful, honest and direct.  She believes that we are healed, not only by a greater expertise, but  by the humanity shared and the relationship formed between client and therapist.  Her continued efforts to understand her own life has been essential and has laid the foundation for her understanding of the problems that people bring to counselling.


 

Iwona Kaczmarzyk-Kozlowski, M.A., C.Psych. Assoc.

Iwona received her Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from Jagiellonian University in Cracow, Poland. She is a registered Psychological Associate with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.

Iwona has over fifteen years of professional experience working with children, adolescents and adults. She has worked in counselling settings providing support to clients dealing with a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, domestic violence, sexual abuse and anger. She has training and experience in the area of crisis intervention. Iwona provides counselling services to families, couples and adolescents. For the past several years, Iwona has served as a school psychological associate dealing with issues relating to emotional and cognitive difficulties of children and adolescents.

 Iwona is fluent in Polish and has considerable experience providing clinical services to Polish-speaking clientele.

 



Vesna Vucicevic, M.A.

Vesna received her Master’s Degree in School and Child Clinical Psychology from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto (1998).

She has extensive experience in providing french psychoeducational assessments for French language school boards in Ontario. Vesna' s main area of interest is school adaptation difficulties.  Her work as a psychoeducational consultant addresses the areas of behavioural, social, emotional and learning difficulties of children and adolescents. Her other areas of interest include evaluation and treatment of brain injuries, motor vehicle accidents trauma and related debilitating factors. She provides counselling for adults and children who are subject to various emotional difficulties as well as pain management issues following traumatic injury.

She is fluently trilingual and can provide services to the Francophone and Serbian-speaking communities.





Merryl Nash, M.A.

Merryl obtained her M.A. in School Psychology from Mount Saint Vincent University, Halifax, Nova Scotia and her B.A. (Hons.) in psychology from St. Thomas University, Fredericton, New Brunswick.

Merryl enjoys working with children, adolescents and their families and has been working with this clientele since 1999 providing psychoeducational services, consultation, and short-term counseling services to teachers, parents and students. Her latest project involves working with school personnel around high risk behaviour students and providing the necessary training in verbal de-escalation in order to prevent a crisis from occurring. Merryl would also like to extend her verbal de-escalation training to families as well. In addition, Merryl has a keen interest in working with sexual abuse victims and individuals recovering from the trauma of a motor vehicle accident.


Pushpinder Saini, M.A., C. Psych. Assoc.

Pushpinder earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Delhi University, New Delhi, India. She is a registered Psychological Associate with the College of Psychologist of Ontario. Her areas of expertise are Clinical Neuropsychology & Clinical Psychology, working with adolescents and adults.

Pushpinder has extensive experience in Neuropsychological Assessments. Such assessments may provide information of the individual's cognitive abilities and functioning, including attention, memory, language, etc., which is an important and helpful component of the assessment and treatment of traumatic brain injury (e.g. MVA, sports injury, falls) and neurodegenerative disorders (e.g. Dementia-Alzheimer’s), neurological conditions (e.g. multiple sclerosis), and psychiatric disorders. Neuropsychological testing is also an important tool for examining the effects of substance abuse or addiction and medical conditions on brain functioning.
 
Pushpinder is also a trained Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, who helps her client overcome anxiety and depression by identifying dysfunctional emotions, thinking patterns as well as behaviour and helping them live life in a much fuller and richer way. Additionally she also helps clients manage stress and anxiety by teaching them various relaxation techniques (Progressive Muscle Relaxation, Meditation, Vipasana- Mindfulness etc.)
 
She is fluent in South Asian languages - Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu. Pushpinder is currently  working at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute (Toronto Rehab) and was formerly with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH).



Angie Lathrop  MSW, RSW

Angie earned her Bachelor Degree (Hons.) at York University and her Master's Degree in Social Work at the University of Toronto.  She has over 35 years of professional experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families.  Angie is a registered clinician with the Ontario College of Social Workers.

Ms. Lathrop has extensive expertise and clinical experience in individual, marital and family counselling.  A particular area of interest is difficult to manage adolescents.  She also has a special interest and extensive experience in working with women from various cultural backgrounds who are subject to partner abuse.  Angie has worked in Mental Health and counselling settings treating children, adolescents and adults who present with depression, anxiety, histories of abuse and violence, acute and chronic physical illness, grief, loss and trauma.  Ms. Lathrop is trained and experienced in crisis intervention, conflict resolution and mediation circles. 

For the past twenty five years, Angie has worked at a school board providing counselling for students and their families. She employs a systemic approach to counselling that takes into account the individual and his or her support system. In this regard she utilizes her own experience of migration to Canada from South America.

Angie is fluent in Spanish and has extensive experience providing counselling services to the Hispanic speaking community.
